We have all heard of dry body brushing, but have you heard of the magic of wet brushing?

Perfect when you’re short on time and unable to dry brush, wet brushing in the bath or shower with this wonderful high-quality brush may be the key to your skin's overall health. Wet brushing completely cleans the skin, gets lymph moving and removes dirt, oil, and dead skin cells. I use mine before body combing on busy days.

When you take a body brush and use it gently to massage your skin, you improve blood circulation throughout your entire body. This bath brush is like the most wonderful caress before a long day. Made from horse hair, which is the best material for bathing brushes, it's sturdy and durable and lasts forever. Plus, it feels absolutely amazing as it’s so soft and pliable and provides a good, comfortable lather.

The skin is the largest organ for detoxification in the body, and we often use creams, lotions and sprays that clog up our pores. Body brushing is a wonderful way to detoxify skin, boosting lymphatic drainage and preventing any chemicals from reaching our Liver.

Handmade in Sweden, Iris Hantverk is recognised as one of the world's oldest and most prestigious manufacturers and with over 100 years of experience, they are all handmade by highly skilled, visually-impaired craftsmen. They last forever, are wonderful quality and really work, they are a must-have in my bathroom.

Dimensions: Length: 39cm Width: 4cm Height: 7 cm

Material: Oak, Horse Hair, Tapioca Fibre

Care instructions: Allow the brush to dry hanging or standing on the horse hair so that the water stays away from the wood.

Note: We recommend avoiding broken, sore or inflamed skin as this can introduce bacteria to the body. If in doubt use the brush around the affected area to support healing and keep pressure as light as possible.

Each brush is made using horse hair sourced from north Eastern China or Hebei, in Mongolia, through Swedish importers that the team at Iris Hantverk have worked with for over 30 years. No horses or goats ever suffer when the hair is obtained.

Can I combine it with other treatments?

Yes! But always consult a doctor as everyone has very individual and sometimes complex health issues. Chinese medicine often works hand in hand with Western medicine and complements the healing process.

How do I make sure I'm using my gua sha tools correctly, without causing damage to my skin?

Please be reassured, it’s very difficult to damage your skin with this time-old technique. Before you try gua sha for the first time, read the instruction leaflet inside the packaging and watch the short video on the product page of this site.
