How To Use

This tool is designed for use with Body Oil. Use as firmly as your body will allow. Redness may occur but this is a sign that the tool is working deeply within the muscles.

Chest

Press and sweep across the chest 8 times to boost circulation and lymphatic drainage.

Neck and Shoulders

Press and stroke down the neck and across the shoulders, with 8 strokes in each direction (as shown) to relieve tension. Press the serrated edge on any part of your body that feels tight and sore.

Body

Apply the serrated edge to your upper abdomen in upward strokes, before sweeping along your lower abdomen in smooth downward strokes. Then go down the outside of the thighs and up the inside. Use the serrated edge to hone in on any areas of tension.

Techniques With The Serrated Edge

Cross-Fibre Massage: Using the serrated edge to sweep across the muscle fibres can help to break down cross-fibre adhesions.

Rolling Motion: Rolling the serrated edge over the skin can create a massaging effect that helps loosen tight muscles. This motion is great for targeting larger areas or specific points of tension.

Point Pressure: Applying point pressure with the serrated edge on trigger points within your body can help in releasing these points and reducing localised pain.

Product information

How often should you use the Body Gua Sha?

For best results we recommend using the Body Gua Sha daily, but go gently, listen to your body and build up use and pressure gradually.

Do you need to wash off the oil after each use?

To keep your tool in optimum condition we recommend cleaning after each use with warm water to clean and wipe clean with a cloth. If you have any oil residue use a gentle cleanser or vinegar if the tool has oxidised.

Should I use it in the morning or evening?

The Body Gua Sha can be used either in the morning or evening. However, it does have incredible benefits before sleep.

What is the difference between the Body Sculptor and Body Gua Sha?

The Body Sculptor is made from Bian Stone and is larger in size, so is made to be swept along your entire body. The Body Gua Sha is made from copper and best used on smaller areas and specific areas of tension.

What is the difference between the Body Gua Sha and Body Restorer?

The new Body Gua Sha is made from copper, famed for its trace minerals and anti-inflammatory and adaptogenic benefits. The Gua Sha also has a new serrated edge designed to really hone in on muscle tension.

What are the benefits of copper?

Copper is perfect for body gua sha due to the metals antibacterial properties and trace minerals which support collagen production, reduce inflammation and boost skin elasticity.

What does the serrated edge do?

The teeth-like edge creates micro-circulations in the skin through small, controlled “scuffs” that encourage blood flow to come up to the surface. This improved circulation delivers more oxygen and nutrients to the area accelerating healing and rejuvenation of the skin and underlying tissues.

What are the advantages of serration?

The serrated edge is ideal for deeper, more intense treatments that target specific issues like myofascial release massage, weight reduction, and cellulite or crepey skin.

Is redness normal?

Yes it’s totally normal! The sha in gua sha means ‘flush’. However if you feel any pain or discomfort when using the tool please stop immediately.
